Policing

The Certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP) is a pathway into the Police Service with the aim of inspiring learners to move into a policing role.  It is a pre-join certificate set up in a bid to provide the knowledge that is required to become a police officer. The qualification is also relevant to other related roles within the Criminal Justice Sector or for those choosing to undertake the CKP for personal and professional development.

Achieving the CKP will allow you to submit this as evidence of the knowledge component of the Diploma in Policing, which forms part of the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP). Successful achievement of the CKP shows a dedication to joining the police, and is relevant to other roles in the criminal justice sector.

Equals Training offers a 12 week course with mid-week, weekend or on-line options to suit individual circumstances and availability. Information, advice and guidance are also available regarding application and career access. See our calendar for dates and locations.

Funded options can offer a discount of upto £400 off CKP costs and student loans are available for eligible students.

Typical course costs are £900 (+ vat). In addition, there is a £100 fee for access to the College of Policing Managed Learning Environment, where the e-learning and other resources are available, providing access for 3 years.  Students currently accessing NCALT do not need to pay this fee.

If you are considering a career in the Police Service then you should check the eligibility criteria at www.policecouldyou.co.uk or other approved websites. To discuss your options or for further details contact Gary or Suzanne.
